Precious Steel Limited based in Farm Cove, Auckland, is specialised in steel welding and fabrication. We are looking for two Fabricators Welders to join our awesome team. 

You will be expected to work at different sites throughout the Auckland region, a minimum of 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday as normal hours of work, and you may also be required to perform on Saturday as well. Please note this is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $27.00-$35.00 based on the candidates' experience and skills.

Job Description for This Position

  • Carry out accurate hand welding and fabrication of structural steel components in accordance with project specifications

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and shop drawings to determine materials, dimensions, and work sequences

  • Fabricate sheet metal and structural steel components and assemblies to required standards

  • Set out, mark, cut, drill, and punch materials precisely to match engineering drawings

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding in line with technical and quality requirements

  • Grind, sand, and polish welds and metal surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish

  • Travel to worksites as required to assist with on-site fabrication, installation, or technical support

  • Support rigging, hoisting, and installation of fabricated steel structures and assemblies

  • Comply with site-specific safety plans and all company health and safety policies

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times

  • Deliver work in a timely and professional manner while meeting quality standards

  • Work collaboratively within a team, demonstrating a positive and cooperative attitude

  • Adhere to all company procedures, standards, and policies relevant to the role

Key Requirements for Successful Applicants:

  • At least two years of relevant experience in structural steel welding and/or fabrication

  • Relevant qualification or certificate is an advantage.

  • Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role

  • Be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting.

  • A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress. 

  • Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
