Service Foods Wellington Butchery team is looking for a Poultry Boner with proven knife-hand skills for Fresh Red Meat and/or Poultry processing. Qualifications within Butchery will be highly considered.

  • Immediate start
  • Permanent, Full-time
  • Location: Upper Hutt, Wellington
  • Days & time of work: Monday to Friday 2.00 am to 10.30 am, Sat-02.00 am to 07.30 am

 

The job:

  • Cut meat to separate meat, fat and tissue from around the bones.
  • Cut specialised cuts and deboning.
  • Wrapping and packing of meat cuts and products.
  • Move carcasses to the boning table for preparation and work on the machinery for processing.
  • Pack processed stock into cartons for storage.
  • Ensure that the stock is labelled correctly and packed as per Operational SOPs.
  • Check to ensure all meat are stored properly, and stock is rotated.
  • Maintain high standards of Food safety and Health and Safety at all times.

 

The person:

Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated and passionate about what they do. You would be physically strong and fit, can hit the ground running and love working in a fast-paced environment.

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

  • A Trade qualification or relevant butchery experience beneficial
  • Skill and experience in cutting meat and preparing standard meat cuts
  • Proven skills in Beef Boning or Slicing
  • Around 1-2 years of hands-on experience in the industry
  • Evidence of a referenced, stable work history
  • Be physically fit and able to lift/move heavy items
  • A proven commitment to Safety & Wellbeing and Food Safety in the workplace.
  • Organized, ability to multitask and meet deadlines
