RESTATE New Zealand Ltd is a specialist restoration company providing water, fire, mould and biohazard restoration services. Due to continued growth, we are looking for 4 reliable and motivated Restoration Technicians to join our team.
This is a client-facing, hands-on role that involves working across a range of restoration projects, sometimes in challenging environments. Flexibility, professionalism and a strong work ethic are essential.
The role is permanent with at least 30 hours per week. Pay rate is base plus call out allowance/on call retainers etc. Normal working days are Monday – Friday with call out roster requirements (1 week per month approx.).

About the role
You will be responsible for carrying out restoration and labouring work safely, efficiently and to a high standard, ensuring excellent outcomes for our clients. This can include work in unsanitary conditions; we provide full PPE.
The role can require out-of-hours work (including weekends and public holidays) and regular drug testing is required. We need you to have reliable transport so you can get to and from work. Site locations can change daily.
Key duties include:
- Water, fire and mould restoration
- Decontamination works (including sewage and biohazard clean-ups)
- Carpet cleaning, demolition, sanding, cleaning and rubbish removal
- Use of hand tools, power tools and specialist equipment (e.g. moisture meters, particle counters)
- Moving, maintaining and cleaning plant and equipment
- Vehicle care and basic maintenance
- Completing documentation, reports, photos and site assessments
- Complying with all Health & Safety requirements
- Client liaison and job management
- Assisting in the warehouse/yard and stock control
- Attending meetings and training as required
- Other duties as reasonably requested
About you:
You will be practical, physically fit and comfortable working as part of a team in varied environments.
Essential requirements:
- Full NZ Driver Licence
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the building industry (labourer or builder)
- Able to pass a police check
- Current Hepatitis A, B and Tetanus immunisations
- Physically fit and capable of manual work
- Honest, reliable and punctual
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Able to work well in a team and independently
- Positive, professional attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable:
- Health & Safety-related certifications
- Experience handling and operating tools and equipment safely
