Welder/Fabricator

All Trades Contract Services are looking for experienced Welder/Fabricators to work with our client in Invercargill, Southland

Due to the nature of the industry, there could be the requirement for onsite work outside of Southland.

About the role:

- Starting wage is $30.00 per hour

- Minimum guranteed 30 hours per week

- Must be available to work weekends

- Working with Alumium Boats, so must have experience with aluminum welding and fabrication.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

- Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.

- Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock.

- Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting.

- Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, CNC machines, and by heating and hammering.

- Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments.

- Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting.

- Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision.

- Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions

- Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding.

Applicants must have at least 3 years of experience.
