Job Description:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist the Director in managing store operations and supervising staff during shifts.
- Assist managing a team of store staff including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, leading, promoting and general supervision .
- Ensure all staff comply with store policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Create and adjust staff rosters as needed.
- Train and guide team members in sales procedures and customer service practices.
- Maintain high standards for product quality, customer service, and store equipment.
- Enforce and monitor all health, safety, security, and hygiene standards in accordance with store and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in managing product pricing, store promotions, and marketing strategies.
- Oversee inventory levels and coordinate ordering of supplies as required.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of daily store operations.
- Responsible for daily cash deposits and correct operation of POS systems.
- Reconcile all cash drawers and POS transactions at the end of each day.
- Deliver excellent customer service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Promote store products and services to travel agencies and other tourism industry partners.
- Coordinate with travel agencies on group tour shopping schedules and post-shopping services.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints in line with store service procedures.
- Authorize customer compensation in cases involving changes to purchases, and inspect returned items.
- Sell products and provide services directly to customers when necessary.
Job requirement: applicant must meet following requirement to apply for this job
- NZQF Level 3 or higher qualification in management or a related field;
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual ability is an advantage, particularly to support customers from Asia, including a large number of tourists from China.
- Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and rostered shifts.
