Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week
You will provide effective leadership and coordination of the extrusion shift team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of production objectives, while maintaining a strong team culture and commitment to continuous improvement
Key Responsibilities
• Allocate resources effectively to deliver the daily and weekly production plan.
• Monitor and optimise extrusion performance, including line availability, run rates, downtime, and quality.
• Ensure all production documentation—pre-start readiness checks, daily reports, operator logs, and QC checks—are completed accurately and on time.
• Create a positive, collaborative team environment that supports engagement and performance.
• In partnership with the Production Manager, identify and implement initiatives to improve throughput, reduce waste, and optimise equipment uptime.
• Lead daily shift meetings to review priorities, performance, and safety.
• Ensure full compliance with company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Key Requirements
• 2+ years’ Team Leader experience in plastics extrusion or similar
• Competency in administrative and computer systems (e.g., data entry, reporting).
• Sound decision-making abilities with an understanding of operational impact.
• Proven commitment to Health & Safety leadership.
• Forklift (F) endorsement and current OSH certificate desirable
You must:
• Have at least 2 contactable references
• Ability to pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screen test
• Return a clear or satisfactory police report
Two permanent vacancies are based at our Whanganui Factory with a minimum of 40 hours per week. This position provides a competitive remuneration package with a wage range of $26 - $33 per hour, and health insurance.
