Mechanical Engineer – Machinery Systems

Primary Purpose of Role:
To provide engineering design, specification, performance evaluation, and technical advisory services for agricultural and industrial machinery. The role supports client operations by ensuring machinery systems meet required operational and safety standards while also providing technical input to machinery sales.

• Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed. 
• Employee me be required to travel.

Applicants must have:

• Must be physically fit 
• Must pass pre-employment drug test 
• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (German 4-year diploma acceptable as equivalent to NZ Bachelor-level engineering qualification for this role)
• Minimum 3–5 years practical experience in machinery systems design, operation, or maintenance
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, machinery performance, and safety standards
• Experience in client liaison, technical consultation, and supporting sales activities

Key Duties:

• Design, specify, and evaluate mechanical machinery and systems for operational efficiency and safety.
• Provide technical advice to clients on machinery installation, commissioning, operation, and optimisation.
• Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure machinery meets engineering requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, engineering reports, and machinery specifications.
• Support sales processes by advising clients on the technical suitability and performance of machinery (technical sales support).
• Monitor and review machinery performance to recommend improvements or upgrades.
• Maintain compliance with company engineering standards and industry best practices.
