Rayden Industries Limited, Auckland is looking for  skilled and passionate Gardener to join our team. If you have a green thumb and love working indoor and outdoors, this is your opportunity to grow with us!

This is a full-time role with minimum guranteed 30 hours of work per week. Pay starts from $32 to $38 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and care for plants, lawns, shrubs, trees, and garden displays within the garden centre and associated outdoor areas.

  • Perform planting, pruning, trimming, mulching, fertilising, and watering of plants in accordance with seasonal requirements.

  • Prepare soil beds and growing areas, including digging, levelling, and applying soil treatments.

  • Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, hedge cutters, and irrigation systems.

  • Identify plant health issues, pests, and diseases, and take appropriate corrective action in line with horticultural best practices.

  • Assist customers by providing advice on plants, gardening products, and basic landscaping solutions.

  • Ensure garden and nursery areas are clean, safe, well-presented, and visually appealing at all times.

  • Load, unload, and move plants, soil, and gardening supplies as required.

  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including the safe handling of tools, equipment, and chemicals.

  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet operational and customer service requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant Level 4 qualification OR at least 2 years of relevant work experience such as Gardener Assistant is required for the role. 
  • Knowledge of plants, soils, fertilizers, and pest control methods is a requirement for this role.
  • Basic Knowledge or Experience with garden tools, lawnmowers, and trimmers is expected. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team
  • Good physical fitness to handle outdoor tasks in different weather conditions
  •  Must have A Valid Drivers Licence.
