GS Technology Limited specialises in the installation and maintenance of optic Fibre on Chorus’s network. We are currently seeking two Telecommunication Technicians to join our Auckland Team.
As a Telecommunication Technician you will carry out fibre installation's as well as remedial work ensuring works are completed to industry and Company standards.
The successful applicant will have a broad range of skills with a keen interest in Telecommunications and with a desire to further their career in this industry.
Job duties may include but not limited to the following:
· Fibre and cable laying from boundary to premises.
· Diagnostics of faults in cabling and/or in equipment.
· Performs site surveys.
· Assesses and documenting current site network configuration and user requirements.
· Diagnosing and resolving network and system faults to ensure optimal networking functionality.
· Setting up the LAN for customer's equipment to the industry specifications.
· Accurately test fibre (multi-mode and single mode) cable to required certification
· Integrating and configuring telecommunication devices and tools to industry standards. Connects fibre optic cables to networking outlets and between network outlets.
· Thrusting and underground cabling for residential customers, consenting & open trench work.
· Pole Climbing and Surveying.
Skills and attributes we are looking for:
- Good Communication skills
· Ability to pass pre-employment drug and criminal history check if required
· Heavy Lifting and working at heights. No health conditions.
· The incumbent may be required to work after hours/weekends or public holidays
· Must be willing to work in confined spaces
· An energetic personality and an enthusiastic approach to work.
· Able to work unsupervised
· working between Monday to Saturday(7am-7pm) with the ability to work on weekends and public holidays if required.
- Ideally, have six months of relevant experience, but not essential. Full training will be provided.
- Clean NZ driver’s license
- Willing to travel within the North Island in a company vehicle if required.
- First Aid, WTC1 and WTC3, TMO certifications or willing to obtain these certifications
Minimum of 30 hours a week.
