Key Responsibilities:
· Review job orders, inspect worksites, and determine appropriate work procedures, tools, and materials.
· Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, or using chemical removers to remove old paint or wallpaper. Fill holes, cracks, and joints with putty, caulk, or plaster to ensure a smooth finish.
· Cover floors, furniture, fixtures (like doorknobs and switch covers), and other non-painted surfaces with drop cloths, plastic, and painter's tape to protect them from paint splatters.
· Mix and match paint colours and apply primers, sealers, paints, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
· Erect and dismantle scaffolding or use ladders and lifts to reach high areas safely. Clean and maintain all tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
· Inspect the completed work to ensure quality standards are met and perform touch-ups as needed. Clean the work area thoroughly after completion, disposing of materials safely and according to guidelines.
· Follow all health, safety, and hazardous material handling regulations and guidelines
The ideal candidate will have:
· Minimum of 2 years work-related experience
· A commitment to delivering quality workmanship with great attention to detail
· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
· Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to workplace safe
· Must be able to work on weekends and work overtime.
· Able to work in cold or dusty conditions, inside and outside.
· Long-term and full commitments are required
· Clean police records and ability to pass pre- employment drug tests
