Hourly Rate: $30.00 – $35.00

Top cafe Limited is located at 236 Jackson Street, Petone, Lower Hutt. We currently operate from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm from Monday to Sunday. Due to our recent business growth, we are looking for a baker to join our team and share our workload shifts.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Check that equipment and work areas are clean and safe before starting production, in line with health and safety requirements.
• Check the quality of raw materials and accurately weigh ingredients.
• Mix, knead, mature, cut, mould, and shape dough and pastry products by hand and using machines.
• Prepare pastry fillings and other bakery ingredients.
• Monitor oven temperatures and check product appearance to decide correct baking times.
• Carry out and coordinate forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling of bread, rolls, and pastry products.
• Operate bakery machines used for rolling and moulding dough and cutting biscuits.
• Empty, clean, grease, and maintain baking trays, tins, ovens, and other baking equipment.
• Keep the workplace clean and follow food safety, hygiene, and health and safety rules at all times.
• Performing other reasonable duties on request.

The successful applicant shall:

• 2 years or more work experience as a baker.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Have a passion for satisfying our customer's requirements and expectations
• Have a Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality focus
• Have good time management skills
• Be well organised and capable of multi-tasking
• Be responsible and hardworking
