JOB TITLE- FRUIT PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Payrate- $26- $30 per hour

The Fruit Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily orchard and production activities to ensure efficient fruit growing, harvesting, and quality control of produce. Key duties include:

  • Supervising and coordinating orchard workers during pruning, thinning, harvesting, packing, and general orchard maintenance.
  • Monitoring crop stages, fruit quality, growth progress, and reporting any disease, pest, or environmental issues to management.
  • Planning and allocating daily tasks to staff, preparing work schedules, and ensuring productivity targets are achieved.
  • Training new and existing employees on horticulture techniques, safe machinery use, and company procedures.
  • Implementing and monitoring compliance with health & safety standards, including hazard management and safe work practices in accordance with NZ regulations.
  • Inspecting and maintaining orchard equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Coordinating with contractors and management for spray cycles, irrigation, and fertiliser programmes.
  • Maintaining daily production records, timesheets, chemical usage logs, and harvest reports.
  • Ensuring fruit is handled, harvested, and stored according to industry and export quality guidelines.
  • Supporting seasonal workforce management, including supervision of RSE and local workers during peak periods.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, food safety standards, GLOBALG.A.P, and packhouse requirements.
  • Assisting management in planning for  crop volumes, manpower, and operational improvements.
