Fruit Production Supervisor & Horticulture Leading Hand

Position Title: Fruit Production Supervisor
Number of Positions: 3
Location: Auckland Region
Pay Rate: $26 – $30 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

Key Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience or Level 4 qualification.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily orchard and production activities.
• Monitor plant health, crop growth, and fruit quality.
• Ensure correct irrigation, fertilisation, and pest/disease control.
• Allocate tasks to orchard workers and monitor productivity.
• Train workers in horticultural techniques and safe work practices.
• Oversee pruning, thinning, picking, and seasonal activities.
• Maintain production and operational records.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Oversee use and maintenance of orchard equipment and machinery.
• Report progress and operational issues to management.

• Lead small teams in daily horticulture and fruit production tasks.
• Assist supervisors in planning and coordinating orchard activities.
• Allocate daily tasks such as pruning, thinning, picking, and maintenance.
• Ensure safe and efficient use of tools and equipment.
• Monitor work quality and productivity of workers.
• Train and support new staff in horticultural practices.
• Maintain orchard cleanliness and biosecurity practices.
• Report task progress and issues to supervisors.
• Ensure correct handling and storage of crops.
• Assist with general orchard maintenance and seasonal operations.
