MK BUSINESS LIMITED delivers residential and commercial interior improvement projects across Auckland. Our core work focuses on vinyl flooring installation (e.g., vinyl plank/sheet and similar floor coverings) and decorative wall finishes, including vinyl wall coverings / feature wall systems. We work closely with homeowners, builders, and commercial clients to transform concepts into practical, buildable outcomes.

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Draftperson to produce accurate technical drawings and 3D models for residential and commercial projects. You will collaborate with clients, site teams, and installers to convert measurements and design intent into clear documentation that supports efficient procurement and high-quality installation outcomes. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed construction drawings, shop drawings and layouts for vinyl flooring and decorative wall finishes, including set-out plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules. 

  • Produce 3D models / visualisations to support client approvals and internal coordination (as required). 

  • Interpret architectural plans, site measures, and client specifications; translate them into buildable drawings and installation packs.

  • Coordinate with project/installation teams to resolve design issues and implement drawing revisions efficiently. 

  • Support project planning by assisting with material take-offs, basic estimating inputs, and material selection documentation. 

  • Ensure drawings are prepared to relevant NZ standards and construction practices (where applicable).

Requirements (Essential)

  • Qualification: Diploma or higher in  Drafting / Interior Design / related field. OR

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in architectural/interior drafting (fit-out or finishes experience preferred). 

  • Software: Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp; familiarity with Revit/BIM or other 3D tools is an advantage. 

  • Solid understanding of construction workflows, documentation, and basic compliance considerations. 

Preferred Skills

  • Strong attention to detail, good communication, and ability to work with site teams and clients.

  • Bilingual (English/Chinese) is a bonus but not required.
