About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Bricklayer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials for residential projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Candidates need to work from a minimum of 30 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week, between Monday and Saturday, from 07:00 am to 06:00 pm. Working more than 40 hours may be required with additional hourly payment, but overtime will be no more than 8 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry units in mortar to construct walls, foundations, partitions, arches, and other structures
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications
- Measure and mark out reference points for brickwork
- Mix mortar and other construction materials to the required consistency
- Cut, shape, and trim bricks and blocks using hand and power tools
- Repair and replace damaged or defective brickwork
- Ensure brickwork is level, plumb, and aligned
- Install damp-proof courses, reinforcements, and insulation as required
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Work collaboratively with site supervisors, engineers, and other trades
Pay
We offer a considerable pay rate between $30/hour – $38/hour for ordinary working hours and a higher pay rate for overtime, depending on your skills and performance.
Qualification and Experience:
NZ Certificate L4 or higher, or 3 years’ of relevant experience
