RESIDENTIAL PROJECT MANAGER - REGISTERED ELECTRICIAN
 
Hiko Electrical have opportunities available for Commercial Electricians, HVAC Technicians, and a Residential Project Manager.  
 
Since 2017 Hiko Electrical has delivered quality workmanship and premium services to the Bay of Plenty as fully insured Master Electricians. They provide residential and commercial electrical solutions, including design and installation, maintenance, repairs, fault testing, audio-visual and security systems, EV, heat pump, and air-conditioning services, as well as comprehensive solar power solutions. They have a solid pipeline of interesting projects and are looking to fill a number of positions starting in 2026.  
 
Residential Project Manager:
Responsibilities include running sites, managing teams, organising sub-contractors, working alongside main contractors and other trades, managing high-end residential and possibly some light commercial electrical projects, and ensuring they are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest health & safety and quality standards. Experience in estimating and quoting for residential/light commercial jobs. Requires strong leadership, client communication, and the ability to coordinate teams on small, medium, and large-scale jobs. You will need at least 5 years of experience as a senior electrician running projects and teams in the domestic/residential sector, and ideally be familiar with Site Wise and Impac for compliance with Health & Safety standards, quoting, estimating, project oversight, back-costing, and procurement.
 
Commercial Electrician:
To carry out electrical installations, maintenance, and upgrades on commercial sites. Reads plans, installs wiring and systems, perform testing, ensure compliance, and works alongside other trades. Commercial experience preferred.
 
HVAC Technician:
Installs, services, and maintains HVAC systems, including heat pumps, ventilation, and air-conditioning units. Diagnoses faults, performs commissioning, carries out repairs, and ensures systems operate safely and efficiently. Experience with HVAC systems required.  
 
All Electrician requirements:
  • Current New Zealand Registration and Practicing License.
  • Both residential and commercial experience is a plus.
  • Site Safe, EWP, Construct Safe, Solar Panel, and HVAC installation experience are all beneficial.
  • Experience using Job Management Software (eg. Fergus, Simpro, Site Docs) preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 27kgs.
  • Full Car License - Manual / Auto or both.
