We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Supervisor/2IC to support the day‑to‑day operations of our Wellington Warehouse, servicing our national customers — including well‑known QSR brands.
This is a hands‑on role where you’ll help lead a committed team, maintain operational excellence, and contribute directly to our service delivery standards.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a busy operational facility. As the Second‑in‑Charge (2IC) to the Team Supervisor – National Contracts, you’ll support the coordination of people, processes, and performance while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency across the department.
Position snapshot
- Start: early Feb 2026
- Roster: Monday to Friday + rotational Saturdays
- Hours: 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Employment Type: Full‑time, permanent
- Location: William Durant Drive, Upper Hutt
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with managing day‑to‑day warehouse operations
- Oversee staff performance and address issues where required
- Pick, pack, check, and wrap national customer orders
- Provide relief driving support when needed (Class 2 preferred)
- Support Inwards Goods, receipting, credits, and stock corrections
- Provide operational cover for the Team Supervisor during leave
- Maintain the highest standards of quality and food safety
- Foster a collaborative and positive team culture
- Support roster planning and task allocation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
- Conduct training to upskill team members
About You
You will have experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment, ideally with exposure to supervising or leading a team. You’ll bring strong communication skills, a hands‑on approach, and the ability to maintain performance standards in a fast‑paced operational setting.
You will bring:
- Supervisory or Team Leader experience
- Class 2 driver’s licence (preferred)
- Forklift licence and practical experience
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Good computer literacy, including MS Office
- Ability to train, coach, and communicate with diverse teams
- Physical fitness — lifting, moving freight, and floor‑based work as required
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to H&S practices
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of basic food ingredients
- Proven track record in improving operational efficiency
- Ability to work in a temperature‑controlled environment
