Truck Driver | Taranaki

Tiwari Transport Ltd is looking for a versatile and reliable driver to join our transport team in New Plymouth Taranaki region. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, can handle early starts, and is committed to road safety and vehicle care.

The Role & Compensation

Pay Rate: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour (based on experience).

No. Of vacancies: 2

Hours: Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, with flexibility to work up to 70 hours during peak periods.

Availability: Must be available for early starts, weekends, and rotating day/night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Versatile Driving: Safely operate Class 1,2,4 & 5 curtain-side/Hard body trucks as required by business needs.

Vehicle Care: Perform pre-trip safety inspections and basic preventative maintenance.

Logistics & Planning: Plan efficient routes, meet strict delivery schedules, and maneuver trucks into tight loading/unloading positions.

Compliance: Maintain accurate logbooks (work/rest hours), document kilometers, and manage fuel/toll receipts.

Freight Management: Ensure loads are secure, verify delivery instructions, and use scanning technology for record-keeping.

Mannual Handling: Must be physically fit to lift upto 15-20kg.

Customer Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact during deliveries, ensuring a positive experience for every customer.

Candidate Requirements

Licensing: A current NZ Class 5 Driver License or equivalent is essential.

Experience: At least 1 year of commercial driving experience OR any Level 2 qualification.

Skills: Hold Forklift License (F endorsement/OSH) or able to obtain.

Safety First: Must be able to pass random drug and alcohol screenings.

Attitude: Highly flexible, punctual, and able to work independently.
