We are seeking a down-to-earth and hardworking site manager to ensure the safe and timely completion of construction projects by overseeing everyone working on the construction site, including members of the construction team and any subcontractors. In this role, it's your responsibility to make sure everyone has the necessary resources to complete their jobs and to monitor and ensure they perform their duties effectively and in compliance with industrial health and safety regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Coordination

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily on-site construction activities.
  • Ensure work is carried out according to project plans, specifications, and timelines.

2. Stakeholder Liaison

  • Attend site meetings, provide progress updates, and resolve issues related to
    project execution.

3. Team Supervision

  • Supervise subcontractors, tradespeople, and site staff.
  • Manage onboarding of new carpenters and ensure all team members follow quality and safety standards.

4. Health & Safety Management

  • Conduct site inductions, toolbox meetings, and ensure all workers follow Health & Safety requirements.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.

5. Resource & Material Management

  • Allocate labour and resources to maintain workflow and avoid delays.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Record site progress, labour hours, and any variations or delays.
  • Report project status, issues, and recommendations to management.

 

Job pre-requisites:

  • A NZQF Diploma or above qualification in a relevant field is required.
  • At least three years of relevant experience on construction sites may substitute for the qualification.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and sense of leadership and responsibility.
  • Attention to details and a hard-working attitude.
  • Being physically fit.
  • Must not have any criminal record.
