Position Overview:
The Painter is responsible for applying paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and structures in order to protect, maintain, and enhance their appearance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, stripping, filling holes, and smoothing surfaces

• Apply paint, varnish, stains, sealants, wallpapers, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment

• Mix and match paints, colours, and textures according to specifications

• Protect surrounding areas with drop sheets and masking tape to prevent damage

• Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with job requirements

• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition

• Work from plans, instructions, or drawings where required

• Liaise with supervisors, clients, or other trades to coordinate work schedules

Job Prerequisites:

• At least 12 months of proven on-site experience in New Zealand.

• Strong attention to detail and a reliable work ethic.

• Physical fitness to carry out manual tasks.

• No criminal convictions and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
