We are currently seeking reliable and full-time Drainlayers to join our team. Starting pay offered from $29- $40 hourly will be fixed according to the skills and experience for 30-50 hours a week. However, this will be reviewed periodically. Any overtime will be paid as per above payrate.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of related tasks, including:
- Install, repair, and maintain below-ground drainage systems in accordance with industry standards and regulations
- Read blueprints, design drainage systems based on project requirements and site conditions
- Cut concrete floor, dig trenches, remove rocks and earth for laying drains
- Measure, cut, join and seal drains as per specifications
- Install pipes and piping fixtures for water or sewage systems
- Identify and troubleshoot drainage issues and propose cost-effective solutions
- Lay and repair sewage and storm water drain and install and repair wastewater treatment systems
- Consult with clients and other trades people about where the drains or wastewater treatment systems are to be laid or repaired this is especially important regarding underground gas pipes.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and set safety standards
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Minimum two years’ relevant experience or a recognized relevant qualification.
- Experience with basic excavation related to plumbing installation is preferred.
- Good knowledge of plumbing tools, equipment, and routine handling procedures.
- Strong understanding of worksite health and safety requirements, including working around utilities and other trades.
- Physically fit and able to work in outdoor environments when required.
- Flexible availability, including early mornings or occasional weekends depending on project needs.
- Pre-employment drug test and police check required.
