Job Description: 

Chinese restaurant in Auckland is seeking two talented and passionate Chinese Chefs to join our dedicated team.

The role will include, but not limited to:

  • Prepare, cook, and present authentic Chinese cuisine in accordance with established recipes and standards

  • Plan menus and develop new dishes based on seasonal ingredients and customer demand

  • Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation

  • Prepare ingredients including cutting, marinating, seasoning, and portioning

  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

  • Maintain a clean, hygienic, and well-organized kitchen in compliance with food safety regulations

  • Monitor food stock levels, order supplies when required, and minimize food waste

  • Supervise and train kitchen staff where necessary, including junior cooks and kitchen hands

  • Always Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and food hygiene standards

  • Manage cooking times to ensure timely service during busy periods

  • Handle special dietary requirements and customer requests professionally

  • Assist with cost control by managing portion sizes and ingredient usage

Job pre-requisites: 

  • At least two years of cooking experience (experiences gained in the same industry are considered as meeting the experience requirements)

  • Relevant cookery qualification or certificate is preferable but not a must

  • Attention to details and a hard-working attitude.

  • Reliable, friendly and professional manner 

  • Have a strong focus on food hygiene and cleanliness.
