​​Job Description

  • preparing surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive, and cleaning with soap and water
  • spreading adhesive onto surfaces, setting tiles in position and aligning using levels, squares, plumb lines and straight-edges
  • cleaning tiles and removing excess grout
  • operating machines and hand tools to cut, shape and polish stone
  • designing and cutting monumental masonry, including lettering
  • constructing walls using stone slabs and large masonry slab blocks
  • Preparation of plaster compounds to the desired consistencies and standard.
  • Building pre plaster preparation work including preparation of plastered window sills, window and door reveals, external corners etc including fitting of appropriate moldings and trims.
  • Apply plaster and mesh systems to building surfaces.
  • Apply plaster texture finishes as specified to a high standard.
  • Grooming plastered surfaces to a standard suitable for painting.
  • Masking and siliconing of dwelling where and as required.
  • Apply specialised rubber paint systems in the required manner.
  • Demasking and final grooming of plastered/ painted dwelling.
  • Laying bricks and cement blocks embedded in mortar and removing excess mortar
  • Repairing and maintaining bricks, cement blocks and related material
  • Constructing concrete walls using related materials
  • Plastering or rendering concrete or brick walls
  • Checking vertical and horizontal alignment
  • Erecting concrete form work and laying steel reinforcement
  • Pouring concrete, spreading and levelling concrete using screeds and templates
  • Tamping, smoothing, shaping and sealing concrete
  • Operating trowelling machines to float, trowel and polish concrete surfaces
  • Carry and lifting materials (glue and tiles)
  • Other duties that may be required

More details about the position

  • Location: Auckland and Tauranga
  • Job type: Full-time Permanent
  • Pay rate: 29.66 New Zealand dollars per hour
  • Days required: Monday to Saturday
  • Hours per week: At least 30

Job Requirement

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience is required.
  • Must have experience in carrying out mechanical fixing, screening, adhesive fix and epoxy fixing, waterproofing, bandaging corners. silicon jointing and any other associated work.
