Linings Limited is an established Auckland business delivering interior linings (GIB/plasterboard), grid ceilings, steel stud,passive fire and plastering. We are seeking an experienced Plasterboard Installer (GIB Fixer) for a long-term role as our workload increases under new ownership.(2 positions available)

Key Tasks,Duties, and Responsibilities 

  • Install plasterboard/GIB to interior walls and ceilings to specification and quality standards.
  • Read and follow plans,drawings, set-out information and GIB systems.
  • Measure, cut, fix sheets;set out and mark studs/joists. 
  • Work with both timber and steel stud framing.
  • Install around openings,corners, soffits and bulkheads.
  • Carry out rectification work to maintain quality and meet site requirements.
  • Use smartphone/tablet apps for job management and site reporting (photos,checklists,updates)

Remuneration

  • Pay range: $32 to $38 per hour,depending on productivity,experience,skills and qualifications.

Work Hours

  • Minimum guaranteed hours:30 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday: 7:00am-4:30pm (option on half-day Fridays)
  • No weekend work required.

Minimun Skills, Experience and Qualifications (must meet on of the below)

You must have either:

  • At least 2 years' relevant work experience.This may include experience in carpentry,plumbing, electrical or another contruction trade (not required if the qualification requirement is met);or
  • A NZQA Level 4 trade certificate or diploma in Passive Fire or another relevant qualification area(not required if the work experience requirement is met)

Further Requirements

  • Good level of physical fitness and comfortable working at heights.
  • Basic computer skills for using management software and apps.
  • Ability to use smartphone/tablet for job management and site reporting.
  • Valid drivers license( reliable transport preferred)
  • Site Safe Passport preferred( we can assist the right candidate to obtain this)
  • Collated scew gun and other fixing tools can be provided or arranged for the right candidate.
