​​Job Description

  • interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to identify work requirements
  • choosing, cleaning, and preparing appropriate metal materials
  • cutting marked metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame-cutting equipment, and metal-cutting machinery
  • forming and bending metal sections and pipes using manual and powered tools, including heating and hammering methods
  • positioning and aligning components for joining using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
  • assembling metal parts through welding techniques, as well as bolting and riveting methods
  • inspecting welds to ensure correct bead width, penetration, and overall accuracy
  • completing products by cleaning, polishing, filing, and treating surfaces with acidic solutions
  • smoothing and refining welds through filing, chiselling, and grinding processes
  • manufacturing and repairing metal components using a range of welding techniques
  • carrying out other reasonable tasks as assigned by the employer

  • Location: Auckland
  • Job type: Full-time
  • Pay rate: 28.00 – 40.00 New Zealand dollars per hour
  • Days required: Monday to Friday
  • Hours per week: At least 30

Job Requirement

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience, or a relevant NZ level 4 qualification, or an equivalent overseas qualification is required.
