ARA Group NZ Ltd trading as “Metalbilt” based in Avondale, Auckland, is a trusted manufacturer and home to a large range of commercial door systems to suit a wide variety of openings in many different industries throughout New Zealand. We are looking for one building assoicate to join our awesome team.
You will be expected to work at different sites throughout the Auckland region, a minimum of 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday as normal hours of work, and you may also be required to work on Saturday as well. Please note this is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $32.00-$40.00 based on the candidates' experience and skills.
Job Description for This Position

Assist the Project Sales Manager and construction team with planning and coordinating installation schedules and works programmes.

Interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, and relevant regulations to support project delivery and site activities.

Assist with preparing, reviewing, updating, and maintaining working drawings, schedules, and project documentation.

Respond to customer and project-related requests in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Provide technical and project support to clients with guidance from senior colleagues and the Engineering team where required.

Support the planning and coordination of installation jobs to ensure resources, materials, labour, and subcontractors are available as required.

Assist with monitoring installation work and materials to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Assist the Project Sales Manager in tracking project costs, estimating timeframes, and supporting delivery within approved budgets.

Provide accurate project updates and assist with ensuring project milestones and handover dates are achieved.

Report safety incidents, near-misses, and quality issues through the appropriate reporting systems.

Prepare QA/QC documentation (checklists, photos, Non-conformance reports (NCRs) and defect lists, completion & handover packs)

Support corrective actions and rework coordination when issues arise, and report outcomes to the Sales Project Manager

Carry out administrative and project support duties as directed by the Project Sales Manager.

Attend customer and construction sites as required to support installation activities, inspections, and project coordination.

Coordinate the supply and delivery of products, materials, and parts.

Assist with organising labour and subcontractors in accordance with project schedules.
Key Requirements for Successful Applicants

Either have a diploma at level 6 or higher in construction OR at least three years of relevant work experience.

NZ full drivers’ license

Holds a current Site Safe passport (or equivalent NZ construction site safety card), or is able to obtain one before starting on site.

Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role

Be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting.

A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress.

Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
