We’re Hiring: Grocery Assistants – Timaru (InStore)

We are looking for two energetic, enthusiastic, motivated, and committed Grocery Assistants to join our instore team in Timaru. In this role, you will support the daily operations of the store and deliver excellent customer service to our valued customers.

What We Offer

           Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week

           Hourly pay rate between $24 and $28, depending on experience and performance

           Flexible work hours based on a rotating roster – evening and weekend availability is essential

 

Key Responsibilities

           Greet and assist customers, answer inquiries, and provide accurate product information

           Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products and pricing options

           Operate the till and process payments via cash or EFTPOS

           Maintain store presentation by stocking shelves and setting up product displays

           Ensure the store environment is clean, safe, and welcoming for customers and staff

           Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering when required

           Handle customer complaints and issues professionally and courteously

 

What We’re Looking For

           No formal qualifications or prior experience required – full training provided

           Strong communication and interpersonal skills

           Physical ability to lift and move boxes and stock

           Reliability, punctuality, and a proactive attitude

           Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
