About us 

CYX Construction Ltd is a growing construction company specializing in residential and light commercial building projects. With multiple projects running concurrently, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our financial operations and ensure accurate management of project-related accounts.

The role will include, but not limited to:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for construction projects, including income, expenses, and job costing.

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including supplier invoices, subcontractor payments, and client billing.

  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and loan accounts on a regular basis.

  • Prepare and lodge GST returns, ensuring compliance with New Zealand tax regulations.

  • Assist with payroll processing, including wages, timesheets, holiday pay, and KiwiSaver contributions.

  • Track project budgets and costs, monitor variations, and report discrepancies to management.

  • Maintain proper documentation for contracts, invoices, receipts, and payment records related to construction projects.

  • Support the preparation of monthly financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and management accounts.

  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, suppliers, and subcontractors as required.

  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Other relevant duties may be reasonably required by the business director or any other representative

Job pre-requisites: 

  • At least diploma or above qualification major in accounting, finance, or other relevant fields

  • At least 2 years full-time relevant working experience gained after formal study 

  • Attention to details and a hard-working attitude.

  • Proficiency in Accounting Software such as Xero and MYOB

  • Integrity and Confidentiality

  • Time Management and Organization Skills

  • The successful candidate must not have any criminal convictions
