Position Title: Horticulture Leading Hand

Location: Te Puke, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand
Pay Rate: $32 – $37 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience OR level 4 qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead small teams in daily orchard tasks.
  • Assist workers in planning and coordinating seasonal orchard operations.
  • Allocate daily tasks and monitor worker productivity and quality.
  • Operate orchard tools and equipment safely.
  • Train new workers in correct horticultural techniques and safe work practices.
  • Maintain orchard hygiene, biosecurity, and safe work standards.
  • Report vine/plant health issues, pests, or diseases to supervisors.
  • Ensure careful handling of vines and fruit to maintain quality.
  • Maintain simple activity and hours records for team reporting.
  • Support irrigation checks, orchard maintenance, and seasonal program delivery.
