We operate more than 1,000 CCA (Customs Controlled Area) and ATF (MPI Accredited Transitional Facility) warehouses in Henderson, Auckland, and maintain approximately 3,000 square metres of warehouse space in China for storage and consolidation.

 

The Role

We are seeking a practical and reliable Fleet Coordinator to manage and oversee the daily delivery operations of a small fleet of five delivery vehicles supporting local transportation services. This role involves organising and supervising delivery staff, planning and coordinating transportation schedules, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of goods. The Fleet Coordinator will take responsibility for day-to-day fleet operations and compliance, while continuing to work closely with drivers in a hands-on supervisory capacity.

 

What we offer:

A Full-time permanent role - 30 minimum guaranteed work hour per week

The rate of pay or salary: $30.00 - $32.00 /hr. before tax

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and control the daily operations of a small fleet of delivery vehicles to ensure efficient and timely transportation of goods.
  • Supervise and coordinate drivers, including rostering, route planning, and monitoring daily performance.
  • Plan and implement transportation schedules based on delivery orders and operational requirements.
  • Arrange and oversee vehicle servicing, maintenance, repairs, WOF, registration, insurance, fuel usage, and related equipment.
  • Coordinate the collection and delivery of goods, ensuring they are transported and handled in suitable conditions to maintain quality.
  • Liaise with internal teams and clients regarding transport requirements, delivery schedules, and service issues, and assist with resolving complaints.
  • Maintain accurate fleet and operational records, and prepare basic reports on vehicle usage, incidents, and transport activities.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements, road safety standards, and relevant transport regulations.
  • Learn and take on supervisory responsibilities as experience develops.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • A relevant NZQA Level 4 qualification in logistics, transport operations, or a related field, and
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a courier, delivery driver, or commercial vehicle driver, with supervisory or managerial experience considered desirable but not mandatory.
  • A valid New Zealand driver licence appropriate to the fleet vehicles is required.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise daily tasks.
  • Good communication skills to liaise with clients and colleagues.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle operation, maintenance, and fleet handling.
  • Customer-focused approach and willingness to develop supervisory skills.
  • Physically fit and flexible to meet operational needs in a small fleet environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliveries with tight schedules and high attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of transport operations and road safety requirements.
  • Ability to speak Mandarin or Cantonese is an advantage, as our main clients are from the Chinese market and our transport operations primarily involve deliveries from New Zealand to mainland China.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, to meet client and operational requirements.
