Roof Tiler

About us 

We are seeking 3 x reliable Roof Tiler to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of roofing systems, including shingles, metal, tile, and flat roofs. This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely at heights 

Job Description 

This role will include, but not limited to: 

• Inspect existing roofs to identify damage or wear on tile and long-run  metal 

• roofing systems 

• Measure roof areas to calculate the required quantity of tiles and materials

• Remove and dispose of old or damaged roofing materials 

• Install new tile or metal roofing, including underlayment, battens, and

• waterproof membranes 

• Lay, cut, and shape roofing tiles to match design specifications

• Repair or replace broken tiles, cracked sheets, rusted metal, flashings,

• ridges, valleys, and fasteners Ensure all work is secure, weatherproof, and  compliant with health and 

• safety regulations 

• Interpret and follow technical drawings and plans 

• Operate hand tools, power tools, and tile cutters safely and efficiently

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area 

• Collaborate with team members and other tradespeople on-site

• Communicate clearly with clients, supervisors, and co-workers

• Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager 

More details about the position 

• Location: Auckland 

• Job type: Full-time Permanent 

• Number of positions for this job: 3 

• Pay rate: $24.00 per hour 

• Days required: 5-6 days/week 

• Hours per week: at least 30, maximum 55 hours/week 

Work Environment: 

• Outdoor construction sites

• High, sloped, or uneven surfaces 

• Exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions 

• Use of scaffolding, harnesses, and ladders required 

The successful applicant must have the following: 

• A relevant diploma qualification or above AND at least FIVE years’  relevant experience as a Roof Tiler or in a similar role 

• Comfortable working at heights and on sloped surfaces 

• Strong understanding of tiling materials and installation techniques

• Physical strength and stamina to handle lifting and labor-intensive tasks

• Good attention to detail and craftsmanship 

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
