Tyre Retreading Technicians

We’re on the lookout for a motivated Tyre Retreaders to join our team based in Pakuranga. In this role, workers will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and retreading tyres to ensure they meet safety and performance standards. About the role:

As a member of our Retread Production Team, applicants will be involved in the manufacturing of retreaded truck and bus tyres. They will be performing routine machine checks and setups of computerized machinery. Applicants must be physically fit as role involves manual work and long periods of standing. Maintaining high production volumes and quality standards in a commercial setting, efficiently processing tyres in accordance with the New Zealand standard NZS5423. You will be required to work full-time, 40 hours per week, over Monday to Sunday. Specific working days and hours will be determined by the employer based on business requirements and may be adjusted accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

• To follow the company’s health and safety policies and procedures.
• Operates machines to manufacture rubber products such as tyres.
• Programs machines to specified tolerance and specifications. Uses knowledge of tyre construction, compounds and tread patterns for correct application.
• To effectively and efficiently process tyres to meet Carters SOP and New Zealand standard NZS5423 Specification for repairing and retreading car, truck and bus tyres to process all retreads to the requirements of that standard. Inspects casings for defects that would cause the case to be rejected for further processing.
• Buffs casing to remove old rubber and applies a sheet of uncured rubber to the casing to bond the new tread to the casing.
• Cures tread to casing following time temperature requirements for the compound and tread pattern. Installs bands and seals to meet curing parameters.
• Undertakes quality control procedures to ensure retread meets required specifications.
• To report any issues or breaches of retreading procedures that could result in re-work, re-do’s or claims
• Accurately completing documentation in relevant systems in a timely manner.
• Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping throughout the plant.

Candidate Requirements:

•         At least 2 years’ experience in Tyre Retreading or relevant role in Tyre Industry.
•          At least High School / College Graduate preferred, or equivalent overseas qualification.
•          Good physical fitness and the ability to safely lift up to 35kg.
•          Excellent written and verbal English skills.
•          A positive attitude, safety-conscious mindset, and a team player mentality.
•          Demonstrating honesty, integrity, and reliability at all times.
