Forklift Driver

We are a busy professional container devanning company operating throughout the greater Auckland area.  We have full-time forklift driver vacancies and would like to hear from applicants who meet the requirements mentioned below.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Operate forklifts to transport pallets, cartons and other containers of goods, general freight, and equipment at appropriate loading areas.

·         Safely unload containers (devanning), and load/unload trucks and designated storage areas.

·         Position and stack pallets of freight in designated warehouse zones to ensure efficient handling and inventory accuracy.

·         Move freight between container faces, sorting staging areas, and dispatch zones according to operational requirements.

·         Monitor forklift gauges, controls, and any electronic guidance systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.

·         Carry out daily checks on forklifts to identify any wear, damage, or maintenance requirements, and report issues promptly.

·         Perform basic servicing tasks and minor adjustments to forklifts to maintain safe operating condition.

·         Adhere to health and safety procedures specific to high-volume warehousing, container safety standards.

·         Assist in keeping devanning and storage areas organised for easy access during inwards goods processing and distribution.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years’ relevant or transferable experience (e.g., in Warehousing, Transport, Logistics, Construction, Manufacturing, Removal/Moving services, or similar), or a relevant tertiary qualification (Level 4 or higher).
• Current Driver’s License and a good understanding of operating forklifts and vehicles/machinery with variable load centres.
• Excellent communication skills for team coordination and safety reporting.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in industrial environments, including confined spaces (shipping containers) and variable weather conditions.
