Established in 1978 our client operates at the premium end of the marine market, servicing a wide range of recreational and commercial vessels and representing global outboard brands.

On their behalf, we are on the lookout for an Outboard Service Manager to lead workshop operations. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who understands outboard engines, values quality workmanship, and enjoys developing a high-performing technical team.

About the role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will take full responsibility for the outboard service department, including:

  • Managing day-to-day workshop operations for outboard servicing and repairs

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of marine technicians

  • Scheduling work, allocating labour, and ensuring turnaround times are met

  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer service

  • Liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders

  • Overseeing warranty processes and manufacturer standards

  • Driving continuous improvement across systems, processes, and performance

About you

You will be a confident people leader with strong technical diagnostic experience in marine outboards.

  • Proven experience as a senior marine technician, foreman, or service manager

  • Strong knowledge of outboard engines (petrol and/or diesel auxiliary systems advantageous)

  • Experience with major outboard brands (e.g. Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Honda or similar)

  • Have the ability to lead by example in a workshop environment

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • A customer-focused mindset with commercial awareness
