Retail Store Manager Needed

Jay Soma & Brothers Ltd a Local convenience store serving the community with a mix of everyday essentials and key services. The store offers basic groceries such as milk, bread, snacks, canned goods, and household items for quick, convenient shopping. In addition to retail products, it provides NZ Post services, allowing customers to send and collect parcels locally. The superette also operates as a Lotto retailer, selling lottery tickets and related products. 

 

Location: Waitakere, Auckland

 

Skills & Experience Required

  • Diploma education in business/commerce preferred
  • 2 years'+ proven experience in retail stores
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the store, including staff supervision
  • Develop and maintain a schedule for employees and promotions centered on seasonal sales and other cycles
  • Seek ways to better promote the store, the product line and service within the store
  • Managing product, pricing, and seasonal promotions
  • Oversee stock control, ordering, and merchandising
  • Ensure excellent customer service is delivered at all times
  • Develop staff rosters, manage training, and monitor performance
  • Implement sales strategies to maximise profitability
  • Maintain health, safety, and hygiene compliance in the workplace
  • Handle the counter and customers` service
  • Assisting Director for hiring staff
  • Check the prices are correctly tagged
  • Check the goods are correctly displayed
  • Able to work effectively under pressure
  • Any additional store manager duties as required from time to time
