Job description

  • operating controls to position forklifts accurately and raise or lower forks for stacking

and unstacking goods in warehouses, factories, timber yards and shipping terminals

  • operating forklifts that run on rails or use electronic guidance systems to manoeuvre safely in narrow aisles
  • moving and transporting goods to allocated locations within warehouses, factories, timber yards and shipping terminals
  • ensuring products are stored in the correct locations to allow efficient retrieval when orders are prepared
  • observing equipment performance using gauges, instruments and computerised monitoring systems
  • inspecting and controlling equipment to detect signs of wear, faults or damage
  • carrying out routine servicing, minor repairs and adjustments to forklifts
  • operating specialised trucks designed to transport loads beneath elevated structures
  • using forklifts to handle and move bulk materials, containers, crates, palletised goods, cartons and bales
  • undertaking any other reasonable tasks as directed by the employer

Position Details

  • Location: Auckland
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Pay Rate: $25.00–$35.00 per hour
  • Days Required: 5–6 days per week, roster may apply
  • Hours Per Week: Minimum 40 hours

Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience, or a NZQF level 4 qualification in a relevant field from New Zealand, or an equivalent overseas qualification, or hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
