Looking for one Assistant Store Manager at Krishna Jyot LTD T/A Caltex Makaraka Gisborne.

Position: Assistant Manager

Location: Gisborne

Pay rate : $30-32 per hour

30 hours average per week

4 days on 2 days off, rolling roster, weekends included.

 

About the Role: As our Assistant Store Manager, you'll be right at the heart of store operations. You'll support the Store Manager with strategic planning, daily performance, team engagement, and maintaining the polished, welcoming environment we're known for. From coaching new staff to ensuring merchandising excellence, you'll be the steady hand that keeps the entire store humming.

Your duties include

  • Assist in managing inventory levels, ordering stock, and conducting stock audits.
  • Support scheduling to ensure adequate staff coverage during peak times.
  • Planning and preparing work schedules and assigning staff to specific duties.
  • Taking responsibility for opening and closing the store 
  • Manage and train junior employees, ensuring they meet performance targets and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure all customer complaint are resolved amicably and promptly
  • Provide feedback to the retail manager for sales, customer service, accounting, and staff performance.
  • Daily cash reconciliation, petty cash, and banking
  • Assist the manager in planning and organising promotions and marketing
  • Work with the Store manager to plan budget, profit margins.
  • Set prices of goods to meet profit margins.
  • Ensure that the store is always clean, organised and visually appealing.
  • Monitor sales performance and take corrective action as needed. 

You must have these skills and qualities

3 years of experience in retail management roles

Knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices

Solid understanding of stock control, store operations

Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
