We are looking for an Export Operations & Supply Chain Analyst to join our team. This is a skilled professional role responsible for analysing, coordinating and improving the company's export supply chain, compliance processes and cross-border trade operations.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
1. Export Compliance, Traceability & Regulatory Liaison
- Coordinate and maintain traceability systems for New Zealand-origin primary products in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with export-related obligations administered by MPI, including record-keeping, tracking of raw material sources eligibility documents, and processing history.
- Support compliance with New Zealand Customs Service requirements relating to export declarations, cargo clearance, and customs documentation.
- Act as an operational liaison with regulatory bodies, including responding to information requests, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Monitor regulatory updates affecting primary product exports and translate compliance requirements into operational processes.
2. Export Operations & Documentation Oversight
- Analyse and manage end-to-end export workflows from daily intake of raw sheepskins to final shipment.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure export certificates, shipping documents, and certificate of origins are accurate, consistent, and audit-ready.
3. Supply Chain & Logistics Analysis
- Analyse inbound supply from slaughterhouses and outbound container movements to ensure traceability integrity across the supply chain.
- Develop data-driven recommendations to optimise logistics coordination, inventory flow, container utilisation, and turnaround times.
- Support operational planning to align processing capacity, shipping schedules, and compliance requirements.
4. Business Process Improvement & Performance Analysis
- Collect and analyse operational and compliance-related data, including processing volumes, traceability records, wastage, and logistics performance.
- Design and implement performance and compliance monitoring frameworks to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare analytical and compliance reports to support management decision-making and regulatory readiness.
5. Cross-border Coordination & Risk Management
- Liaise with overseas customers and internal sales teams to ensure export specifications, traceability information, and compliance requirements are clearly communicated.
- Support risk assessment related to export compliance, regulatory exposure, and supply chain integrity.
- Assist management in developing scalable compliance and export strategies as the business grows.
Pay Rate: $43-$48 / hour
Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 30 hours. Permanent full-time.
Requirements for the job:
- Candidate should have a bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Management, or a related discipline; or if no qualification, 3 years of work experience in the related field is required.
- Strong understanding of international trade, logistics coordination, or export operations.
- Full time availability (Mon-Fri)
