Nature Pac Limited is a New Zealand-owned eco-friendly food packaging business. We are seeking an Electronic Engineering Technician to support the reliability, safety, and ongoing performance of electronic, automation, and electromechanical equipment across our manufacturing, custom branding, warehousing, and dispatch operations.
The role
You will work as part of our engineering/maintenance function, providing hands-on fault-finding, repair, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement support. This is a practical, site-based role suited to someone who enjoys troubleshooting, improving equipment reliability, and working closely with operational teams to reduce downtime.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose and rectify faults on electronic and electro-mechanical equipment in production and warehouse environments.
- Maintain and service sensors, actuators, relays/contractors, power supplies, instrumentation, control panels, HMIs, and VSD/VFD drives.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, testing, and calibration in accordance with scheduled maintenance plans.
- Support basic control system troubleshooting (I/O checks, alarms, interlocks) and liaise with external specialists/OEM technicians when required.
- Assist with small equipment upgrades, improvements, and the commissioning of new or modified plant equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and documentation; support spare parts management.
- Work safely at all times, including compliance with isolation/LOTO procedures and site health and safety requirements.
Minimum selection criteria (mandatory)
Applicants must meet at least one of the following:
- A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant work experience in electronics/electro-mechanical maintenance, automation support, instrumentation, or similar; or
- A relevant qualification in electronics engineering technology, automation, instrumentation, mechatronics, or equivalent.

- Reliable, practical, and able to work autonomously while communicating clearly with operations and management.
