Our Waikato Fresh Produce division is seeking Part Time Produce Assistants to join our team.
As part of a dynamic group, you will help pick, prepare, and pack fresh vegetables and fruits according to customer orders.
The Role
- Start date: Mid‑February 2026
- Employment type: Permanent, part‑time
- Shift: 07:00 pm – 12:00 am (Sunday to Friday)
- Location: Horotiu Road, Hamilton
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will work with fresh produce (fruit and vegetables) in a temperature‑controlled environment. Duties include:
- Picking, weighing, and packing customer orders
- Assisting with dispatch
- Cleaning, washing, and processing fresh produce
- Inspecting produce for quality before packaging
- Operating processing machines (peeling, coring, slicing, dicing)
- Receiving, handling, and restocking inventory
- Storing products safely and accurately
- Performing heavy lifting (up to 20 kg)
- Maintaining a clean work area and general housekeeping
- Strictly following food safety and health & safety protocols
- Performing repetitive motions, standing for extended periods, and completing physical tasks throughout the shift
About You
We are looking for someone who can work independently and contribute to a high‑performing team in a chilled environment.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience in fresh produce or warehouse pick/pack roles
- Previous experience in a chiller/produce environment
- Reliable transport and flexibility with hours
- Good communication skills
- A positive, can‑do attitude with strong attention to detail
- Prior NZ work experience and basic knowledge of food ingredients
- Physical fitness for repetitive tasks and heavy lifting
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- A current forklift licence (advantageous)
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety
- Ability to attend rostered shifts consistently
