We are seeking skilled and reliable Fitters to join our workshop team. You will be responsible for the assembly, installation, and maintenance of precision machinery and mechanical equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise and a high level of accuracy to ensure our production remains at peak efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation.
Fit and assemble metal parts and sub-assemblies to fabricate and repair mechanical equipment.
Check finished parts for accuracy and clearance using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
Set up and operate machine tools to cut, drill, and grind metal stock to fine tolerances.
Diagnose faults and perform routine maintenance and overhauls on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Install and repair fluid power equipment and piping.
Skills and Experience
Qualification: A relevant Level 4 Trade Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent overseas qualification).
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical fitting (required if no formal qualification is held).
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Proficiency with hand tools and heavy machinery.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Commitment to health and safety protocols in a workshop environment.
Requirements and Skills:
Relevant NZQA unit standards or at least two years of relevant experience.
Site Safe passport an advantage.
Valid driver's licence an advantage.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Good communication skills.
First aid certification is an advantage.
Work may involve exposure to noise, dust, and fumes.
Physical demands include lifting heavy materials and working in various positions.
Be willing to undergo random drug tests while employed.
Must be a NZ Citizen, NZ Resident or eligible to work in NZ.
The successful applicants will also have the opportunity to work in different locations (Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Nelson-Tasman, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago and Southland), providing a unique chance to explore New Zealand's diverse regions.
This is a full-time permanent role, and the hourly pay rate is between NZ$30 and NZ$40, depending on experience and qualification. The work hours are from 30 hours minimum to 70 hours maximum per week, and they are to be worked between Monday and Friday between 7 am and 5 pm. They may be required to work on weekends.
