Job Details:

Location: Orakei, Auckland 

Position: Chef 

Term: Permanent full time position 

Wage: $29.50 to $35.50 per hour 

Hours of work: Minimum 30 hours per week, Maximum 50 hours per week, shifted by  roster from Monday to Sunday 

We require the candidate: 

• Have a Chinese Occupational Skills Testing Authority Certificate or a Chinese  Certificate of Occupational high Skill Level 3, in traditional Chinese cuisine. 

We prefer the candidate: 

• Relevant chef work experience  

• Great interpersonal skills  

• Adaptable to change and able to multi-tasks 

• Excellent organizational and time management skills 

• Able to work under pressure. 

Duties and responsibilities: 

• Menu designing and Manage food and wage costing  

• Ensure all cooks and kitchen stuffs are familiar with their tasks for the shift  including preparation, functions, rosters and service. 

• Oversee delivery of food including, portion control, consistent presentation in  accordance with the standard recipe descriptions and food photos. 

• Ensure stock is ordered to the correct quantities, quality and price.

• Ensure orders are placed through the correct suppliers that comply with the group  purchasing contracts. 

• Ensure All stocks are being kept securely and under the correct conditions.

• Ensure All statutory, as well as establishment Health &Safety regulations are  strictly adhered to including uniform and personal hygiene. 

• Ensure all communications between the kitchen and front of the house runs  smoothly . 

• Ensure clear communication with the kitchen team during service.

• Ensure systems are in place to check that each dish leaving the kitchen is  consistent in quality, quantity, presentation and temperature as per the standard  recipe and food photos. 

• Ensure time and attendance records are completed correctly and on a daily basis.

• Ensure all documents, such as invoices, are sent to the appropriate person for  processing 

• Ensure your establishment's Food Control Plan is known and implemented by all  staff. 

• Ensure all staff under your control have completed and signed all their  employment documents and Code of Conduct. 

• Ensure inductions are completed 

• Ensure all maintenance problems are promptly reported and followed up

• Regularly update your knowledge and skills for the good of the establishment and  attend training sessions as required. 

• Any other duties the employer may reasonably require.
