We are a well-established business operating Pacific Supermarket in Manukau, Auckland, and we are currently seeking a Store Manager to join our team in a full-time permanent position. As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our store, ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers, and driving the growth and success of the business.

You will be rostered to work for 30-40 hours per week between the hours of 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Friday. We offer competitive wage between $28-$32 per hour based on your skills and experience.

Duties and responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate daily store operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and profitable functioning.

  • Drive sales and promotions to meet store targets.
  • Undertaking budgeting, including planning and allocating resources, monitoring expenses, and minimizing waste to achieve financial goals.
  • Formulating and implementing store policies and procedures, including purchasing and marketing to improve overall store performance.
  • Analyse customer demand to determine the right product mix, maintain optimal stock levels, and achieve sales targets.
  • Identify profitability ratio by studying financial statements and operating statements.
  • Study display plans, sales promotion, and advertising towards marketing merchandise in a profitable manner.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and maintaining records of stock and financial transactions.
  • Setting prices, promoting and advertising the goods.
  • Study trends, authorize clearance sales and also determine all required sales promotions.
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained and that all produce is fresh and high-quality.
  • Hiring and managing staff and providing them with necessary training and development opportunities.
  • Ensuring high standards of store presentation, including product displays and cleanliness.
  • Selling goods and services to customers, advising them on product use and handling customer inquiries and issues.
  • Establish good rapport with existing and potential customers. 
  • Ensuring the store complies with health and safety regulations

Skills required:

·        Proven work experience with a solid understanding of supermarket operations

·        Relevant qualifications are preferred

·        Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively

·        Knowledge of Pacific groceries and fresh produce is highly advantageous

·        Honest, reliable, and able to work independently
