We are seeking a reliable and physically fit individual for a full-time Delivery Driver position. The ideal candidate will be a team player, capable of handling heavy lifting, have good awareness and knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, be honest, possess strong communication skills, and be willing to accept responsibility and work hard.

Job description

In this role, you will be responsible for all duties associated with delivery of the Company’s products, including but not limited to:

  • Deliver goods using truck that does not require a special driver's license to customer
  • Loading and unloading vehicle with items to be delivered
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of the items loaded on the vehicle
  • Ensure that appropriate and complete documentation is available at the time of loading
  • Assist in unloading items off the vehicle in a safe manner and ensure that delivery receipts are signed.
  • Take the vehicle to the repair shop for maintenance or repairs
  • Assist in picking orders as requested by Supervisor
  • Report any discrepancies regarding invoices or complaints about products to a superior.

Compensation

$24.00 - $33.00 per hour

 

Minimum guaranteed hours of work

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as a Delivery Driver.
  • NZ full driver’s licence
  • To have well-developed communication skill
  • In-depth knowledge of Japanese food as well as business culture is a plus
  • Japanese language capabilities (Preferable, but not essential)
  • Basic knowledge of Japanese food is advantageous as most of the products are sourced from Japan, but not essential.
  • Have a positive attitude and confidence and are motivated to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Punctual, reliable attendance and can focus consistently
  • Physically fit and strong as heavy (25kg+) lifting and carrying are involved.
