BNY Trading Limited, located in Browns Bay, Auckland, operates retail bakeries and a central kitchen, specializing in Japanese soft bread, toast, cakes, pastries, and baked goods across Auckland. Due to business growth and increasing demand, we are seeking two experienced Bakers to join our team. This is a full-time permanent role, and you will be working a minimum of 30 hours to a maximum of 50 hours per week.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  •  Capable of preparing and baking Japan soft bread, toast, cakes, pastries, and other baked products.
  • Manage the whole baking flow, including coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products, glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing.
  • Monitor oven temperatures, baking times, and product quality.
  • Operate baking equipment safely and efficiently.
  •  Ensure high standards of food safety, hygiene, and workplace cleanliness.
  •  Minimise waste and use ingredients efficiently.
  •  Work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

To fit his position, you are required:

  • At least two years of relevant work experience as a baker, or
    a relevant Level 4 qualification (e.g., NZ Certificate in Baking or equivalent), or a bachelor’s degree in any field.)
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dough preparation, fermentation, and oven operation
  • Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
  • Reliable, punctual, with good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physically fit and with a clean criminal record.
