Wage: $25.00 hourly rate

Hours of work: Minimum 30 hours per week, Maximum 50 hours per week, shifted by

                           roster from Monday to Sunday

Majortom Cafe Albany located at Westfield Albany, we are looking for 2 experience cooks to join our business, to meet our increasing business requirements, to provide customer with tasty and healthy meals.

The position is Permanent, working minimum 30 hours shifted Monday to Sunday to meet kitchen operational requirements. Due to the business nature, you are required to work on weekends and public holidays to meet the business needs,  you need to accept the terms to work on weekends and public holidays.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in cookery at level 4 or higher equivalent to a New Zealand qualification;

  • And have at least 1 year relevant experience working at kitchen.

  • Has professional cookery technique to produce high quality dishes.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with both suppliers and team members;

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Physically well to work under pressure during peak meal time.

  • Follow all hygiene and Health and Safety regulations 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food on Majortom menu to satisfactory standards;

  • Food preparation including portioning, seasoning, adding gravies, sauces and garnishes.

  • Ensure all food is prepared, well presented and fresh for each dining session

  • Monitor the quality of dishes, liaise with manager in regards to food preparation matters;

  • Maintain the quality of food supplies, manage the stock level to meet the kitchen requirements

  • Regulating temperatures of cooking equipment and maintain excellent food handling and kitchen hygiene standards 

  • Keep the working area clean and tidy, ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered

  • Assist with other duties as required by the business
