Nalawe Forestry Limited is seeking motivated Forestry Silviculture Workers to join their team based across the the Whanganui -  Manawatu region. 

The role is permanent and full-time (we guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week). Applicants must be available Mon -Fri and the ocassional Saturday. The normal working hours are 7:30am - 3:30 pm.

You will be paid a piece rate as per the following:

  • $1.50 per metre of tree pruning/thinning.
  • $30 per bag planted (approx. 100 trees).
  • $0.15 per spot release sprayed.

Wages will be 'topped up' to $28.00 per hour if your comparable piece rate earnings do not exceed this figure.

We are open to employing people with some experience and wanting to grow their careers. Applicants shold have a minimum of 1-year relevant work experience.

The Forestry Silviculture Workers' job duties are: 

  • Planning and implementing silviculture operations.
  • Planting, release spraying, pruning and thinning.
  • Use a range of equipment including chainsaws, loppers, planting spade and frames, slashers, scrub bars, knapsack sprayers, poison applicators, motorised machinery and fire prevention techniques.
  • Mix and apply agrichemicals within guidelines and practices.
  • Operate LUVs and quad bikes for remote areas.
