Rangiora Mini Supermarket in Palmerston North and Makino Dairy in Feilding requires a Store Manager to oversee daily operations, manage staff, maintain stock levels, and ensure excellent customer service. These roles is essential to support daily operations and maintain compliance with standards.
To support two dairy stores, requires a Merchandise Planner to plan ranges and buys, set pricing and promotions, and optimise inventory and sell‑through for retail.
Position Title: Store Manager
Number of Positions: 2
Location: Manawatū–Whanganui Region
Pay Rate: $30 – $35 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week
Key Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience or Level 4 Qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily store operations and ensure smooth workflow.
- Supervise staff, manage rosters, and allocate duties.
- Monitor stock levels, order inventory, and manage suppliers.
- Ensure proper merchandising, pricing, and product display.
- Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints.
- Maintain sales records, cash handling, and banking processes.
- Ensure shop cleanliness and compliance with health & safety.
- Implement promotional activities and sales initiatives.
- Monitor store performance and report to business owners.
- Train and support staff to meet service and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor sales, stock levels, and category performance; forecast demand and create store‑level replenishment plans.
- Negotiate purchase, pricing, and promotional terms with suppliers and wholesalers.
- Plan range assortments by season and store profile; set min/max and re‑order points.
- Design and implement pricing, promotions, and display strategies to drive sales and margin.
- Liaise with owners/store managers on sales plans, category reviews, and promotional calendars.
- Build buying plans to seasonal/budget targets; manage OTB and stock turns.
- Track consumer trends (local preferences, seasonal events) and adjust buys.
- Maintain item master data, barcodes, cost/price files, and promo mechanics in systems.
- Review shrinkage, wastage, and expiries; implement rotation and markdown policies.
