Description:

Manawatu HVAC service Ltd is looking for a FIVE motivated and committed Sheetmetal Fabricator to join our team in Auckland & Wellington. You will be responsible for the operation and will provide excellent customer service. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week with a pay rate between $30.00/- to $35.00 p/h.

You will be required to work as per the roster and be available on weekends and public Holidays.

 

Your key Responsibilities:

  • Must carry out all trade associated duties as per client specifications and requirements.
  • Must be able to work in an unsupervised area, safe and trustworthy.
  • Must be a positive team player.
  • Must undertake other duties as delegated by the leading hand.
  • Must adhere to all company policies including quality assurance and occupational health and safety.
  • Consults blueprints, work orders, and/or schematics to safely construct specified structure; develops additional sketches if required
  • Selects appropriate material for each job based on the desired or necessary strength
  • Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions
  • Measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions
  • Connects pieces or secures seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws
  • Performs assigned work on assembly lines such as punching holes for screws or bending gutters
  • Uses appropriate machinery, etc. to complete assigned jobs
  • Coordinates required shutdowns and startups of equipment with other departments after sheet metal installation
  • Develops and maintains records for projects and repairs
  • Maintains clean and orderly workspace

Skills and Experience required:

  • Must have at least two or three years of proven experience in all activities related with Sheetmetal fabrication, welding, etc OR relevant trade qualification to level 4 
  • Must have a drive license.
  • A team member must have good communication skills and also time management skills.
  • Must present a good quality and high standard work to the client.
  • Must have an ability to organize and supervise another technician (if applicable).
  • Must have ability to read architectural drawings (desirable).
