Priority Roofing Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Metal Roof Technician to join our core team in Queenstown. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of high-quality metal roofing and cladding systems on residential and commercial projects, including architectural and complex roof designs.

The successful candidate will work as part of a professional roofing team delivering high standards of workmanship and safety across new builds and maintenance projects.

This is a full-time permanent role with a minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install long-run metal roofing and metal cladding systems
  • Install tray roofing systems, including architectural and low-pitch applications
  • Measure, cut, fold, and install flashings, including ridges, hips, valleys, barges, parapets and skylight flashings
  • Install roof sheets and associated rainwater goods, including gutters and downpipes
  • Carry out roof maintenance, leak investigations, and remedial repair work
  • Read and interpret construction plans, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and bending equipment
  • Maintain clean, organised, and safe work sites in accordance with health and safety requirements
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, builders, and other trades on-site

Skills and Experience Required

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in metal roofing and/or metal cladding installation
  • Strong knowledge of roofing systems, flashing details, and weatherproofing methods
  • Experience installing tray roofing systems
  • Ability to work accurately with measurements, angles, and detailed drawings
  • Competent in the use of hand tools and power tools
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious

Qualifications (Preferred but not essential)

  • New Zealand LBP (Roofing) or working towards LBP registration
  • Experience working on architectural or high-end residential projects
  • Experience with low-pitch or complex roof designs

Tools and Equipment

Employees are expected to supply their own basic hand tools and drill/driver.
All other specialist equipment will be provided by the employer.
